Ways to Help

Four reasons why supporting Love's Bridge is a good idea:

1. We aren't just feeding and clothing children. By rescuing street children from the streets and helping them to study and prepare for their careers, we are helping them to break the cycle of poverty in their lives and build a future they can look forward to.

2. No money wasted on offices, administrational expenses or high salaries! Love's Bridge doesn't pay rent for its office in the US. Benjamin Knaupp, the chief counsel, volunteers his time without compensation. The only administrational expenses are banking costs, an occasional legal fee and postage.

3. A wide support base. Love's Bridge projects are supported by the Perm administration, Russian individuals and corporations, and non-Russian individuals, corporations and organizations.4. A brief look at the project's history will show that we have made constant yearly progress since our day shelter opened in 1998. The progress has been documented by both local and international visitors and media.

1. Donating Funds

At this time approximately 30% of the project's costs are supported by regular, dependable contributions. The project's continued success depends on new contributions! In addition, there are a number of worthy projects that could be undertaken if somebody is willing to fund them. For a couple of examples, see current plans.

Donations that are not earmarked for a specific purpose, such as sponsorship of a specific child or planned project, are used to cover the costs of caring for and educating current or former street children in our 24/7 shelter, day shelter and ACT center. For a budget breakdown see FAQ.

If you prefer to give towards a specific need, please click here to see this year's needs.

Funds can be donated online at www.secure.serve.com or www.justgive.org, sent by check or money order, or transferred to our US or Russian bank account. Checks and money orders should be made out to Love's Bridge and sent to: Love's Bridge, Post box 575 Ashland, OR 97520 USA. Click here to see the other options.

2. Sponsor an Individual Child

3. Support the Project While You Shop

Residents of the USA can support the project by taking part in Albertson's "Community Partner Cards" program, which enables supporters of an individual charity to use the card every time they go shopping, and Albertson's donates a percentage of their purchase (up to 5%) to that specific charity. If you are interested in receiving a card that will help support Love's Bridge, please write Anne Slack-Hearn at annehearn@earthlink.net or 477 Scenic Dr., Ashland, Oregon 97520

4. Tell Your Friends and Colleagues

You can pass the word on to your friends and colleagues by giving them Love's Bridge brochures. You can receive brochures upon request, by writing to info@lbridge.org or Love's Bridge, Post box 575 Ashland, OR 97520 USA. Please remember to specify the amount you would like to receive, and keep in mind that though the printing was donated, there are a limited number of brochures available.

5. Send New or Used Clothing for children and teenagers ages 8-18

You can mail new or used children's clothing to the following postal address: Post box 5886 Perm 614077, Russia.

Please send packages via ordinary surface or air mail. Express mail is often delayed by Russian customs.

Shoes, jeans, shirts, socks, hats, gloves and scarves are always especially appreciated. Since medical supplies like band aids, vitamins, disinfectants, anti-lice shampoo, cough syrup and fever relief are also needed. However, please avoid sending medicines which might cause customs problems. Thank you!
